5) To ensure the Scope and Limitation of Project

Content / Procedure :

Introduction of Project

Nowadays, nurses have many tasks in hospitals such as daily check-up their patients, taking patients' data, and giving medicine to their patients. So, the Development of Medicine Delivery Robot using Arduino for In-ward Patients is the technology that can help nurses reduce one of their work tasks by giving the medicine to in-ward patients remotely by following the line and see the view by using a camera.  The objectives of this project are to provide a technology of robot car that can follow the line correctly, to reduce the nurse work task by delivering medicine to patients remotely, and to give a real-time view where the robot goes by the camera attached on its body as proof that the medicine has been delivered to the patients.

Project Background

Since COVID-19, nurses and doctors are not allowed to be in contact with their patients such as to take daily data, monitor their patients' condition, and ensure their patients taking medicine according to their schedule. So, this project is made if this situation occurred in the future. Medicine Delivery Robot is not just able to deliver medicine to patients, but it also can help nurses and doctors to monitor their patients remotely.

This project contains a 4wd car, Arducam OV5642, IR Sensor, ESP8266 NodeMCU and Robotic Arm. Arduino IDE and Pushbullet application are the software used in this project.

The project will show the result by delivering medicine to the patient and sending notification using Pushbullet application to the doctor as proof that the medicine is delivered.

Problem Statement

  1. "Robots in hospitals are designed to be operated by medical technicians, medical doctors, and staff without engineering knowledge and troubleshooting skill. Therefore designers always need to ensure simple architecture, easy handling and quick maintenance for long-term usage of such machines." - Yongde Zhang and Mingyue Lu, 2020
      2. "Nurse working longer shifts and had the workload led to burnout jeopardizing the process of                   caring." - Van Bogaert et all, 2013

      3. "Many studies focus on main Controlling Car through Bluetooth, but they did not provide any                 video streaming." - Sheetal Gandotra et all, 2016

Objectives of Project

- To provide a technology of robot car that can follow the black line correctly.
- To reduce the nurse work task by delivering medicine to patients remotely.
- To give a real-time view where the robot goes by the camera.

Significance of the Project

- Pharmacy department in every hospital can use the project.
- It can be used daily.

Scope and Limitation of Project

- The robot is following a single line in time only.
- The path should be plane and obstacle-free.
- The Infrared Tracking Module only can be read if the black line is connected.
- The robot only can deliver one medicine in a time.

Conclusion :

In conclusion, I can create Introduction of Project, Project Background, Problem Statement of Project, Objectives of Project, and Scope & Limitations of Project. I also did present to my supervisor and need to be repaired for documentation.
